Oral Sedation

Oral Sedation is a medication given to the patient to relieve anxiety before or during a dental procedure. It does not produce a depressed level of consciousness and allows the patient the ability to control their own airway. It further enables the patient to respond appropriately to physical and verbal stimulation. During a dental procedure with oral sedation you will feel very relaxed.

Nitrous-Oxide Sedation

Nitrous-oxide or laughing gas has a calming effect that makes your visit more pleasant. You breathe nitrous oxide in through a small mask that covers your nose. After awhile you will feel relaxed, happy, slightly numb and disconnected from what is happening around you. Nitrous-oxide does not numb your teeth so anesthetics are still necessary.
