2017 Resolutions: Five Tips for a Brighter Smile

I’m not going to lie to you, some of these may seem radical and a bit out there. Yes, the thought of giving up red wine to have beautiful bright white teeth may be a bit daunting. But hear me out, and I hope we can still be friends.

USE WHITENING TOOTHPASTE: this one is easy, nothing to it. Switch to a whitening toothpaste and bush twice a day for 2 minutes each time. Extra points if your whitening toothpaste has baking soda and peroxide for healthy gums!

EAT CRISP FRUITS AND VEGGIES: apples, carrots and celery are great fruits and vegetables you can eat that help washing away tooth stains. Besides eating these foods increase saliva production that naturally helps clean your teeth.

CUT BACK ON STAINING BEVERAGES AND SUGARY FOODS: leave it to your dentist to tell you, sugary foods are bad for your teeth. But let me add the ante here, and tell you that some drinks can stain your teeth and should be drank in moderation; such as red wine, coffee, tea and sodas.

DENTAL CLEANING: a diligent oral hygiene routine is the best way to keep your teeth while and bright. For optimal results use an electric bush.

PROFESSIONAL TEETH WHITENING: for sure-fire results schedule an appointment with your dental professional and get a professional teeth whitening.
